Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, received on Tuesday in Cairo a high-level delegation from the China National Tire & Rubber Corporation and its subsidiary Prometeon Tyre Group. The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and the future of the company’s investments in Egypt, reflecting the significance of the Egyptian market as a central hub for the company’s operations across the region.اضافة اعلان


The high-level delegation included Mr. Wang Jianjun, Chairman of China National Tire & Rubber Corporation; Mr. Sun Ding, Vice President of the company; Mr. Omar Mehanna, Chairman of Prometeon Tyres Group in Egypt; Mr. Yuan Liang, Deputy General Manager of Prometeon; Mr. Stefano Ziliani, CEO for Africa and the Middle East; and Mr. Hesham Abdel Hady, the company’s CFO.


The Chinese executives praised the support provided by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade for their expansion plans in Egypt, which aim to increase production and introduce new product specifications suited to the Egyptian market.

The Chinese side explained that China National Tire & Rubber Corporation plans to inject $400 million in new investments to produce an additional 1.5 million car tires and upgrade the efficiency of the existing plant, whose current production stands at 1.2 million tires. The company also plans to introduce new tire manufacturing technologies to Egypt.

The company expressed its desire to obtain a new plot of land adjacent to its main project in Amreya, measuring 200,000 square meters, to support the expansion of its current operations. It also aims to establish a private free zone to serve its new expansions and dedicate production entirely for export.

The high-level delegation included: Wang Jianjun, Chairman of China National Tire & Rubber Corporation; Sun Ding, Vice President; Omar Mehanna, Chairman of Prometeon Tyres Group in Egypt; Yuan Liang, Deputy General Manager of Prometeon; Stefano Ziliani, CEO for Africa and the Middle East; and Hesham Abdel Hady, the company’s CFO.

During the meeting, Minister El-Khatib praised the positive progress the company is making regarding its expansion projects in Egypt, affirming that the ministry will spare no effort to meet the company’s needs, as part of its commitment to providing a supportive investment climate and ensuring fair competition.

El-Khatib also discussed with the delegation ways to accelerate the implementation of the company’s projects aimed at increasing production and injecting more capital. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting the company through the China Unit at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, by providing all necessary information and required data.
