The UK government might soon make a U-turn on its plan to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, and relaxing the deadline for drivers to adopt electric cars. The strategy is being rumoured following the unexpected Conservative party victory in the recent by-election in Uxbridge and South Ruislip.اضافة اعلان

Former Tory business secretary, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, has already called for the government to axe the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel cars to gain the approval of voters. He said: ‘The lesson from Uxbridge is that there are things we can change that will be electorally successful.’
Conservative and Labour campaigners reckon the driving force for the Labour defeat was the locals’ resistance to the expanding Ultra Low Emission Zone. The ULEZ expansion is being pedalled by the Labour Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan – but Tory voters showed their rejection of this green policy with their ballots in the by-election, which could trigger a change of tack in Westminster in time for the general election in 2025.
