According to the report from the Egyptian Insurance Pool for Compulsory Vehicle Insurance for September, published by Al-Ahram, the number of newly registered passenger cars in Egypt has seen a significant rise, with an increase of 42.4% compared to August. The largest share of these registrations was from 2026 models, which totaled 14,152 cars. This was followed by 5,071 cars from the 2025 models, and 2,330 cars from the 2024 models. The 2023 models had the lowest number, with only 2,124 cars registered, while 3,961 vehicles from the 2022 models were also licensed.
This indicates that the total number of registered cars from models 2022 to 2024 is 8,415, which is 5,737 fewer cars compared to the 2026 models alone.
Top 10 Brands with the Most Registered Cars in September
The report also highlights the top ten brands with the highest number of cars registered in Egyptian traffic departments during September.
Leading the list was Nissan, with 3,034 cars, of which 2,097 were from the Sunny model, 577 from the Sentra, 155 from the Qashqai, and 3 from the Patrol.
In second place was Chery, with 2,838 cars, followed by Hyundai in third place with 2,263 cars. MG ranked fourth with 2,062 cars, while Kia secured fifth place with 1,376 vehicles.
Jetur took the sixth spot with 1,136 cars, while Mercedes-Benz ranked seventh with 1,105 vehicles. Toyota came eighth with 940 cars, followed by BYD in ninth place with 914 cars. Finally, Suzuki rounded out the list with 848 registered vehicles in September.
